I watched a documentary last night called Race and Intelligence: Science’s Last Taboo. It did alright in rounding up a big, fraught subject and it reminded me of something quaint. In the scientific context, the words idiot, moron and imbecile used to mean specific ranges of IQ (or lack thereof).
This illustrates the sloppy science in the field of human intelligence that has been tolerated for far too long. The appalling consequences of such wilfully inhumane categorisation are hard to stomach. There are huge gaps to be filled in on that spectrum, and refinement with sub-categories ranging from spazimodo to fucktard and weaponhead to knucklescraper would make it a far more useful as a classification system.
With about 5 minutes to go I dropped the TV remote, which buggered the programming & I missed the conclusion.
ReplyDelete15 minutes later and still unable to reset the remote, I dragged my knuckles upstairs to bed.
I can clearly see my end of the spectrum.
A true tale of failing to deal with modernity... which was the upshot of the last 15 minutes. IQ tests are very good at seeing if think in a modern manner. But don't worry - the take home message is that you will gain IQ points year by year, faster than those who are already societally modern - chin up and frontal lobes out!
ReplyDeleteI was recently accused of making a "racist generalisation" when I said black people are on average much more athletically gifted then white people. I said nothing about this affecting their IQ or in any way being mentally inferior.
ReplyDeleteIs it racist to make positive generalisations about a race?
Yes, you bad driving, test beating, huge dicked, swimming legend.
